What’s in theaters this weekend? The shocking twist of M. Night Shyamalan’s triumphant return to critical success, Michael Ealy playing a surprising credible creepy stalker, and Anakin Skywalker returning from the dead.
The Visit
Yes, we know, it’s an M. Night Shyamalan movie, and he hasn’t made a good one since it was still acceptable to cast Mel Gibson. It’s also a found-footage film, which really should be a brutal one-two punch. But, surprisingly, it’s been getting great reviews and seems to be marking Shyamalan’s return to making genuinely disturbing movies—The Village— instead of expecting us to fear trees. It seems to be the movie worth checking out this weekend.
The Perfect Guy
Sanaa Lathan breaks up with her boyfriend over wanting marriage and family, and promptly finds the dude of the title, Michael Ealy, who, sadly, is not playing an android. Needless to say, things are not what they seem. This wasn’t screened for critics, which should really tell you everything.
90 Minutes In Heaven

Hayden Christensen and Kate Bosworth star in a movie about a guy who dies and thinks he goes to heaven for an hour and a half. Also, for some reason, they didn’t write this movie to be exactly ninety minutes long, which seems like a wasted opportunity.
