John Calipari Celebrated A Huge Recruiting Win By Awkwardly Riding A Hoverboard

John Calipari got another five-star recruit on Saturday night, as Kevin Knox committed to Kentucky. Knox is a Florida native and the No. 10 prospect in America in the class of 2017, according to his 247Sports Composite rating. A McDonald’s All-American, Knock joins another absolutely loaded recruiting class for the Wildcats – he is Calipari’s sixth five-star recruit in this class.

Knox’s commitment is newsworthy for two reasons. First, Kentucky was not expected to win the battle for his services. According to his 247Sports Crystal Ball, Duke was the overwhelming favorite to land Knox. North Carolina also had a few predictions registered. No one had him ending up in Lexington.

It’s also big because it led to Calipari riding around on a hoverboard in celebration. Calipari looked exactly as uncomfortable on top of the device as you would expect.

Calipari does deserve some credit for making it 35 seconds before falling over. He looked like he was beyond uncomfortable for basically his entire time on the board, but he managed to make it work until he got over by the person filming. Then again, if you want to highlight truther this and say he waited until he was near the camera to fall, you can very easily make this point.

Also, it’s kind of weird that Calipari decided to celebrate something with a hoverboard, right? It’s seemingly been a while since they’ve been on anyone’s radar, but Calipari has apparently been waiting to bust out his hoverboard for something special, like getting a 5-star recruit who most people thought was going to North Carolina.
