Chris Bosh isn’t old. The Miami Heat star is just 31, and still in the prime of his playing career. But there’s a reason why his vicious poster dunk over Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond is so surprising: Bosh just doesn’t make über-explosive plays like this one anymore.
Part of that’s due to circumstance. The eight-time All-Star doesn’t occupy the same role for the Heat that he did for the Toronto Raptors, and is far more skilled now than he was back then, too. He simply doesn’t need to rise for highlight-reel finishes the way he did earlier in his career.
As Bosh made clear on this authoritative slam, though, that hardly means he’s incapable of doing just that.
