NBA Players Tweeted Their Support After DeMarcus Cousins’ Season-Ending Injury

Friday night’s match-up between the Pelicans and Rockets in New Orleans couldn’t have ended on a worse possible note. With just under 10 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, DeMarcus Cousins came down awkwardly after a missed free throw and eventually had to be helped to the locker-room by his teammates.

It didn’t take long for news to emerge that the Pelicans’ big man had suffered what appeared to be a torn left Achilles tendon and was subsequently presumed out for the remainder of the season. It was a devastating blow to both the organization and its fan-base, not to mention Cousins himself, who was named an All-Star starter earlier in the week and is in the midst of a contract year.

New Orleans had been on a roll lately, winning four straight and eight out of their last 10, while holding down the No. 6 spot in the West en route to what many presumed to be a highly-anticipated return to the postseason, which would’ve been a first for Cousins.

Upon hearing the news, the NBA world did what it does best in times like this and took to social media to show their support for Boogie and wish him a speedy recovery, while mourning the absence of one of the league’s most talented and entertaining players.
