The Pacers Will Be Crashing A Date On The Next Episode Of ‘The Bachelor’

ABC’s The Bachelor is one of America’s finest comedies because it takes social dating, makes it completely one-sided and then tries to cram true love into the occasion. But what ends up happening is a bunch of people get drunk, talk smack about each other, and usually someone ends up crying and tattling on another person they don’t like even though they’d never met until four weeks earlier. Maybe in the process you find your future husband — success rates, while low, do exist — but what you really do is take a bunch of trips to exotic locations and get attacked by wild pigs.

This upcoming week, though, the show is headed to Warsaw, Indiana, to meet the Pacers.

This year’s Bachelor, Ben Higgins, is from Indiana and, boy, oh boy, did the producers play up the “Hoosiers” angle from the start. On a hometown date — which, in the interest of fairness, isn’t part of the exotic vacation tour because hometowns are usually boring as hell — Higgins and “Lauren B.” meet and greet Pacers players Paul George and George Hill, as well as coach Frank Vogel.

“We do participate in the date. I guess you could say we crashed it, but it’s not the intimate setting you might imagine,” Todd Taylor, senior vice president/chief sales and marketing officer for the Pacers, told the Indianapolis Star. “ABC, of course, wants to keep it under tight wraps so people will watch it.”

So, if you’re a Pacers fan, tune in Monday to watch George and Co. play basketball on The Bachelor. Stay for the tears and the terribly cold ways people get rejected.
