Get A Better Look At Nintendo’s Mobile Phone Game ‘Super Mario Run’ With These Two Trailers

Next Thursday (December 15th), Nintendo’s first mobile Mario Bros. gameSuper Mario Run — is finally coming iPhones, iPads, and iPods running iOS 8.0 or later. On The Tonight Show on Wednesday night, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime walked Jimmy Fallon through gameplay, and today Nintendo has released two trailers for my next addiction if I could afford Apple products.

The game can be played with one hand, as Mario will continually run and jump over small obstacles, and it’s up to the player to tap when they want him to jump for coins, avoid bad guys, reach for the top of the flagpole, etc. There’s also a mode to compete (for style points) against other players who’ve played the same course. A third mode allows you to build your own Mushroom Kingdom (so you can expect plenty of crazy user-submitted levels to show up in YouTube videos soon). The first trailer (above) shows how the three game play modes work.

The game can be downloaded and played for free, but if you want unlimited access to all the modes there’s a one-time fee of $9.99. Nintendo plans to release mobile versions of Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem early next Spring, hopefully for a similarly low price point.

Here’s a second, inexplicably parkour-filled trailer which seems to have cost a whole lot of money that could have gone towards making an Android-compatible game, not that I’m bitter or anything.

I can’t be the only one who thought of this when that parkour lady just straight-up jumped off a roof:
