eBay Auction Of The Century: The Uncanny Toilet #1

Personally, I prefer to cover my toilets in Cosmopolitan Magazine and stains, but I realize that I’m in the minority here. Not reciprocating the same respect for contemporary art, eBay user xenonouveau decided to cover his Standard American loo with the best-selling comic book of all time, 1991’s X-Men #1. With just a few hours left in the auction, head on over to eBay and check out the item up for grabs. With a starting bid of just $495.00, now you too can have the opportunity to sh-t all over the X-Men franchise, just like Brett Ratner.

The number one selling comic book of all time, X-Men #1 (1991), sold over 7 MILLION copies. It was released with 4 variant covers and a “deluxe” edition with a gatefold cover and glossy pages.

One of each of the variants along with a deluxe, gave their useless lives to decorate this ’70s era Standard American toilet.

The issues were carefully deconstructed, panel by panel, cover by cover using scissors and X-Acto blades. Hundreds of separate images were glued to every square inch (other than water holes) of the bowl, tank, seat, and lids. [eBay]

But don’t jump that click button just yet, eager beaver. All that talk I made earlier about crapping in the toilet, may not be the best idea. In true American fashion, xenonouveau was sure to include an honest disclaimer for all potential eBay buyers to read…

A disclaimer: I CAN NOT guarantee the efficacy of this art piece if it were to be installed as a working toilet. It would probably work, but water will find a way into the smallest pinhole and the bowl interior is possibly subject to degradation.

Item will be shipped by Greyhound, or delivered personally if within 300 miles of Atlanta GA.

Oh hush, you had me at “Greyhound”…

Finger guns to Nerdcore.de for the tip, even though I can’t understand any of your German.
