Gucci Mane caused quite the uproar by saying he was working with Outkast on new music. Now, we’re finding out that may not necessarily be the case.

The Mr. Zone 6 said clear as day that he “just did a record for Outkast” in a Snapchat video that hit the web on Monday. While the thought of the Atlanta titans coming together for new music was enough to create a joyous noise on social media, a rep for Andre 3000 says Gucci gave fans a bad piece of info, per a report from Fuse. The outlet’s source says there is “no OutKast news to report,” which is has been the status quo since…forever. Or at least since 2003’s Speakerboxxx / The Love Below. Another source was reported as saying Gucci most likely misinterpreted working with Big Boi as working with Outkast.

And just like that, all hopes of hearing new material from one of rap’s greatest duo dies.

So, Guwop may have led everyone astray but at least we can take solace in knowing he and Big have something coming for us soon. That should be entertaining since the two did work together on the single “Shine Blockers” from 2010’s Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty.
