This commercial that Conan O’Brien debuted on his show last night is a parody, but if hardware stores took the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon seriously, they would make bank. Seriously, one hardware store employee must have been dragged to that movie — or snuck in by himself — and thought, “People are going to want to try things like this, and they’re going to try to do it themselves… and I sell all kinds of stuff that can make it possible!” And BOOM. Huge sale, profits galore, holiday bonuses for everyone and the economy is fixed.
