Prepared to be teased. Or pre-teased at least. That lovely video at the top of this post is the mythical beast known as the “teaser preview” and it has snuck itself onto YouTube for all of us to obsess over with the first look at Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The stand-alone Star Wars offering from Godzilla director Gareth Edwards now has a very brief mini-preview to nudge you into watching Good Morning America‘s big trailer reveal on Thursday morning. Clocking in at a runtime on par with some sneezes, there are three things of note: 1) The title card, 2) The push to watch GMA, and 3) A single chunklet of the film featuring a Stormtrooper of a different stock. There’s also some fire in the background because fire’s cool and the sort of thing you like to see in these sorts of clips.
Taking place between the events of Episode III (the one where Darth Vader goes “NOOOOOOOO!”) and Episode IV (the one where fans go “YEAAAAAH!”), this particular motion picture will follow the Rebel mission to steal plans for the Death Star. Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, and Forest Whitaker are among the talents featured in the cast.
