Vin Diesel Reveals That The Guardians Of The Galaxy Are Heading To ‘Infinity War’

The truth has emerged, like Baby Groot from a tiny pot. Vin Diesel announced that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be joining Avengers: Infinity War. Diesel spilled the beans during a 30-minute chat on Facebook Live, where he updated viewers on the upcoming xXx: Return of Xander Cage.

“Now, the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting,” Diesel said.

Right past the 20-minute mark, as Diesel was talking about how fan engagement helped land him the gig as Groot in the first Guardians of the Galaxy flick, Vin Diesel revealed that the gang will be appearing alongside the Avengers, though he wasn’t specific about how involved they’ll be or what they’ll be doing. Not sure if that was something he was allowed to reveal yet, but Vin Diesel is known for not really caring anyway. There’s also a rumor going around that the Guardians could show up in Thor: Ragnarok, though that hasn’t been confirmed.

While this news is exciting, it isn’t exactly surprising. After all, the entire plot of Guardians of the Galaxy surrounded one of the Infinity Stones, the Power Stone (aka the Orb), with Star-Lord handing it over to Nova Corps at the end of the film. And while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 won’t have any Infinity Stones, as confirmed by the director James Gunn, we know that the Infinity Stones will play a huge part in Infinity Wars.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens May 2017, with Avengers: Infinity War set to come out May 2018.
