Final Track: 7 Must-Hear Songs Of The Week

It’s impossible to cover each bit of new music that comes out during the week, so every Friday, we’ll be doing an end of the week music roundup. It’s called Final Track, and we’ll count off a few songs released during the week that are worth giving a listen to.

Today, we’ve got selections from Soundgarden, Wiz Khalifa ft. the Weeknd, Hospitality, and more.

“Been Away Too Long” by Soundgarden

Just as crunchy as you remember, 15 years later.

“Remember You” by Wiz Khalifa ft. The Weeknd

For more on this chilly, slick track, check out the Smoking Section.

“Blue Whale” by Frank Ocean

A Jerry Rice reference, sure, but also the first new song Ocean has released since Channel Orange came out, one that’s a welcome return to him rapping, not only using his soaring vocals that dominated the Album of the Year-nominee.

“Hell Song” by Chino XL f. Tech N9ne & DJ Romes

Chino goes about as hard as anyone, and “Hell Song” lives up to its title. You can practically hear the flames roaring. The laughter is particularly menacing.

“Take Us Alive” by Other Lives

Good enough for Thom Yorke, good enough for us.

“Guiding Light” by Tennis

A respectful, gorgeous cover of the Television classic, something the world could use more of.

“Monkey” by Hospitality

The spry indie-pop trio from Brooklyn released their winning self-titled debut earlier this year, only to follow it up with yet another track featuring a windy melody and persistent rhythm section. Check them out.
