Model Pattie Boyd, who was married to George Harrison in the 1960s and Eric Clapton in the early 1980s, is infamous in the music world for having multiple Billboard-charting songs written about her, including “Something” by the Beatles, “Layla” by Derek and the Dominos, and “Wonderful Tonight” by Clapton. All great songs. Well, all great songs, and then there’s “Wonderful Tonight” (unless it’s The Rock’s cover).
Flashforward to the present, to Ray J’s sure-to-heat-up-the-charts new JAM, “I Hit It First,” his nana-nana boo boo ode to Kanye West’s current lady friend (and his former lover), Kim Kardashian. Chew on these tasty lyrics.
She might move on to rappers and ballplayers
But we all know I hit it first.I had her head going North and her ass going South
But now baby chose to go WestNo matter where she goes or who she knows
She still belongs in my bed.
To quote the Pharcyde, “OH SH*T.” No, really, “Oh, that was sh*t.” Chris Brown is impressed, though, he’s also pissed he didn’t think of the song title first. “I Hit It First” comes out April 9th.
