’90s Punk Band Jawbreaker Is Reuniting To Headline Riot Fest 2017

It’s time to throw that copy of Jawbreaker’s Dear You that’s been sitting in your record collection for years back on the turntable, because Riot Fest is returning to Douglas Park in Chicago on September 15-17 for its twelfth installment, and with the first wave of bands announced for the festival is the announcement that the seminal 90’s punks will reunite more than twenty years after internal turmoil brought the group to dissolution in 1996.

The newly reunited Jawbreaker will take the stage to close out the festival on Sunday, September 17th, while Nine Inch Nails will headline Friday, September 15th and Queens of the Stone Age will headline Saturday, September 16th. Additional acts include New Order, Paramore’s first confirmed North American show in support of their new album After Laughter, Prophets of Rage, M.I.A., Wu-Tang Clan, The Smith Street Band, Vic Mensa, Bad Brains, The Menzingers, and a DJ set from the Beastie Boys’ Mike D. In addition to more than 25 bands that still have yet to be announced for the festival, the artists performing full-album plays that have become expected for Riot Fest will be revealed later this week. As with years past, Riot Fest will once again feature a full-scale carnival with rides, games of chance, and a freak show.
