UPDATE:

Local newspaper the Wilmette Beacon reports that O’Connor has been located and is safe.

Police in Wilmette, Illinois, are searching for singer Sinead O’Connor, who went out for a bike ride on Sunday morning and hasn’t been seen since. The authorities, who classified the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer as “missing and suicidal,” released a statement saying, “A caller has expressed concern for her well-being,” but “no other information is available at this time.”

Two hours after she left for her bike ride in the small Chicago suburb, O’Connor wrote a message on Facebook to her oldest son Jake, asking him to look after her third youngest, Shane.

“My lawyer will be making the illegal way yourself and Donal [O’Connor’s former partner] got him into Tusla (lying to the cops etc) known to the judge. expect to be in trouble. In fact you’d best bring a lawyer of your own. And do not abandon your brother or any other of my babies again. What you have done to your brother and your mother is LITERALLY criminal.”

It was a troubling update in O’Connor’s troubled life. In 2015, she posted an apparent suicide note to Facebook, and earlier this month, O’Connor publicly blamed Arsenio Hall for Prince’s death. “Anyone imagining Prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land,” she wrote. “Arsenio, I’ve reported you to the Carver County Sheriff’s [sic] office. Expect their call.”

We’ll update with more information as it’s made available.
