Two Pussy Riot Members Were Detained In Sochi For The Most Bullsh*t Of Reasons

Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alekhina have a bigger #SochiProblem than any journalist without a working toilet. The two Pussy Riot members were detained at the home of the 2014 Winter Olympics over alleged theft at their hotel, which is a cowardly, Putinly way of punishing them for their scheduled performance of a protest song called “Putin Will Teach You to Love Their Homeland.” That’s far less shocking than the original title, “Corrupt Olympics, F*ck You.”

Two members of the punk band Pussy Riot have been released by police after they were questioned about a theft. Earlier Tuesday afternoon, the duo were detained, accused of theft, while walking through downtown Sochi. Attorney Alexander Popkov, who represents the two Pussy Riot band members, told USA TODAY that the duo were beaten by police before his arrival at the station. (Via)

Worst of all, they were picked up at a Russian McDonald’s, which sounds like a medieval torture device.

UPDATE: here’s a selfie taken inside the cop car.
