Thomas Davis Shared A Gruesome Photo Of His Arm And It Looks Like Something Out Of ‘Frankenstein’

After breaking his arm in the NFC Championship two weeks ago, Carolina Panthers’ linebacker Thomas Davis declared almost immediately that he would play in Super Bowl 50 despite the injury. It seemed ridiculous, but Thomas did play, and his seven tackles in the big game were enough to finish second on the team for the day.

The break in Thomas’ forearm was serious enough to require doctors to surgically implant a metal plate with 11 screws into his arm and caused him to play the game in a cast. What’s worse is the surgery also required 40 stitches to close the incision, leaving a wound that, like the broken bone in his arm, hadn’t quite healed yet. Late Sunday night after the Panthers 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos, Thomas posted a graphic photo of that arm on Instagram for the world to see, thanking fans for their support and commenting on the doctors and trainers that helped him prepare for the game despite his injuries.

This post is not about me, or how tough I am. It’s not to shine any light on me or my injuries. Our team doctors and trainers did an amazing job giving me an opportunity to get back on the field. This post is strictly to show how much love I have for my brothers and #PantherNation. Thank you all for your support and we will #KeepPounding.-TD

It’s all pretty insane and gives a glimpse at just how dedicated Thomas (who has recovered from three ACL tears in his career) was to playing in the Super Bowl.
