Ian Darke calling a date

World Cup action doesn’t start until June 12 on ESPN, but that doesn’t mean that the Worldwide Leader can’t advertise the ever-loving hell out of some soccer leading up to it. Fortunately, while ESPN is awful at so many things, it is still one of the best in the business at making awesome and funny commercials that make us momentarily forget about Darren Rovell, Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless.

ESPN’s latest great commercial has Ian Darke warming up for his World Cup announcer duties by calling a first date between two star-crossed lovers, and it’s wonderful. Please enjoy it before it’s eventually ruined by Smith and Bayless arguing over whether or not Tim Tebow should be on the US Men’s National Team.
