Watch What Happens When A Hockey Player Takes A Slapshot Directly To The Nuts

At some point in the evolution of hockey, standing in front of 90 mph slap shots went from nonexistent, to a sign a bravery and eventually became expected of every player on the ice today. The Edmonton Oilers’ Matt Hendricks is one of those players who would be happy to sacrifice his body and on Thursday, he nearly sacrificed the part of the body he holds most dear.

Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski cranked a shot toward the net that dropped Hendricks like a Friday morning class at college. Why? Because the puck caught Hendricks square in the genitals. It didn’t hit him in the groin or a bad spot or an uncomfortable area; it hit him in the penis and testicles.

Maybe you’re thinking, “When Goligoski hit the puck, it was sort of on edge, so maybe it didn’t hurt as bad as it seems.”

Hendricks tweeted a picture of the carnage (his equipment!) to show that no, he absorbed all of it.

Adding insult to injury, the Oilers lost 3-2. Maybe Hendricks can turn this into a financial windfall, though, by endorsing jock straps or winning money on America’s Funniest Home Videos. People love seeing guys get hit in the nuts, and no one is getting hit harder in that area in 2016 than Hendricks.
