Lee Daniels On The Emmys’ Lack Of ‘Empire’ Love: ‘F*ck These Motherf*ckers’

Fox’s Empire, which could be considered the biggest show on TV (at least in the 18 to 49 demographic, which is all anyone cares about anyway), was only nominated for two Emmys yesterday: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for breakthrough star Taraji P. Henson, and Outstanding Costumes for a Contemporary Series, Limited Series, or Movie, which, obviously.

Commercial success often doesn’t equal award show love (The Walking Dead, for instance, has only won two Emmys, and it hasn’t been nominated since 2012), but creator Lee Daniels thinks Empire was snubbed AND flubbed. Or in his own words, “F*ck these motherf*ckers.”

Change the show’s name to Empire of Cards and cast Jeff Daniels, and you’ll be swimming in Emmys.
