Let’s Liveblog Wednesday’s Geeky TV: ‘Arrow’ Drops The Bomb

Last week on Arrow, Damien Darhk’s master plan fell apart mostly because, um, it wasn’t particularly well thought out, to be honest. Come on, you hide a suburb under the city and pack it with Starling’s worst supervillains, both in the sense of being evil and in the sense of kind of sucking at their jobs? How did you think this was going to end?

Darhk lost his wife, and since he’s a jerk as well as evil, he wants to share his pain by nuking Starling City off the map. Although to be fair, he argues it’s a mercy killing and it’s difficult to argue he’s wrong. Starling has no economic base, the SCPD is so incompetent this episode will resolve its justice problems with mob violence, and the mayoral position is so dangerous, not even a supervillain who wants to burn the whole city to the ground can survive long enough to pull off her evil plan. Not even Detroit is that bad, and Detroit practically had a supervillain mayor in real life.

But since Arrow has a fifth season coming, we can assume Starling City isn’t turned into ash. But maybe Evil Fun Laurel will show up. We’ll find out tonight at 8 p.m. EST on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
