Most of the focus of HBO’s spring lineup has been on the return of Game of Thrones, but it’s important to remember that Silicon Valley is returning for a third season on April 24, too, and that Silicon Valley is awesome. Luckily, HBO just released a new trailer to remind us.
If your memory is a little fuzzy, the show’s second season ended with a roller coaster ride. There was a surprise win in arbitration, and a near ruinous deleting of Pied Piper’s entire program, and then, after surviving both of those close calls, Richard (Thomas Middleditch) found out the Pied Piper board was voting to remove him as CEO. Which brings us to season three. Enter Tobolowsky.
Yup, Stephen Tobolowsky is the new Pied Piper CEO, and it goes over about as well as you’d expect. Erlich (T.J. Miller) especially doesn’t take it well, running off a list of age-related burns to the new boss’ face, which, from my personal experience, is not a great way to make a first impression. He’s also doing… something with a unicorn and a pile of money. I could try to explain it, sure, but I think we’ll all be better served with a visual. Silicon Valley is a good show.
