Reality TV People Still Not Here to Make Friends

My weeklong vacation means I missed the 2010 version of “I’m Not Here to Make Friends,” created by fourfour and hosted by Videogum. If you’ve ever seen one of the videos from this annual tradition (2008, 2009), then you know that this needs to be part of the historical record of Warming Glow, even if I’m a week late to it.

Frankly, I’m kind of astounded that there are people who are still moronic people lacking any self-awareness who still use this tired and tiresome cliche, but then: that’s reality television for you. Although I must give credit to the drag queen on “Untucked” who said, “I didn’t come here to make a crotch full of friends.” Or maybe he meant “crotchful,” which I think is the appropriate collective noun for a group of friends. Pride of lions, school of fish, crotchful of friends.

Oh, and just for the record: there are a couple instances of people saying “I’m not here to make friends” on “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.” Let that one sink in for a second.
