A ‘Walking Dead’ Producer Is Turning A Popular Podcast Into a Horror Anthology Series

Horror fans can rejoice as the immensely-popular, fact-based look at origins and history of monsters podcast that is Lore, will be turned into a horror anthology show. This is all thanks to executive producer from The Walking Dead, Gale Anne Hurd, who is teaming up with Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens’ Propagate Content to create the hourlong anthology series.

The Hollywood Reporter learned of the upcoming television adaptation of Aaron Mahnke’s brainchild that is Lore, which attracts over two million listeners per month. The podcast, which launched in March of 2015, was bestowed the honor of being called one of the iTunes’ Best of 2015 and there have been over thirty installments to the podcast thus far. The podcast has touched upon legends such as zombies, vampires, witches, ghosts and even a bit more grounded subjects such as serial killers.

The anthology series will look to preserve the basics of the podcast which have helped to make Lore so popular with listeners, which means narrated segments, historical media and live action, and scripted scenes which promises to deliver top talent. Lore being turned into a television series follows hot on the heels on the popularity of Serial, which garnered an immense following through its first and second seasons, and will also be turned into a television series.
