Zombieland is one of my favorite horror comedies of all time. In fact, for awhile, I had reappropriateD the Zombieland movie poster for the Pajiba logo. I love this movie and the way it blends awesome zombie action with fantastic comedy writing, and the best movie cameo ever. This TV series that Amazon is developing based on the movie? It doesn’t look good. Not at all. It’s taken everything from the movie, slapped some of the film’s catchphrases into the trailer, and Britta’d it. In fact, that’s too nice a thing to say. It’s Chuck Lorre’d it. It’s like a multi-cam sitcom with zombies; all it’s missing is a laugh track.
You can watch the entire pilot on Amazon Instant, but before you do, just watch the trailer. I think you’ll reconsider any such notion.
As much as I want to have Colbert Report’s babies after his opening Boston monologue, I want to abort this show’s babies, and I’m pro life for crying out loud!
Absolutely crushed it
JESUS, did they have a budget?
Are they using the same characters from the movie? With terrible new actors? What is this, 1993?
I’m going to pretend you said 1996 so I could say CLUELESS TV SERIES BURN!!!!!!! Which is a phrase I’ve been waiting to use.
Police Academy: The Series.
Did you ever see the pilot they made in an effort to turn Blazing Saddles into a TV series?
Yeah, they knew a bad thing when they made it.
So I’m assuming the actor at the end was responding to having watched the trailer: “It’s not funny.”
I’m in the minority, as I thought the “best movie cameo ever” (no spoilers) really wasn’t. But I did like the film… and this looks like zombie turds.
This is a joke right? Like this is a fan made trailer?
That is exactly what I was thinking. Good Lord, that was awful.
This definitely looks amateurish and homemade.
But I’m not sure I’d say it was made by a “fan” of the original film. This seems too spiteful of the original premise.
It looks like a fake show in the real Zombieland
Since Zombieland was supposed to be a tv show originally so I’m not opposed to the idea of it being made into a show. This, however, doesn’t qualify as “television show” in my mind. Simply awful. Even NBC could do a better job than this.
I was living in the town where they shot the amusement park scenes and remember everyone clamoring for a shot at being zombie extra. When I heard they were shooting a “zombie movie” I just assumed it was some low budget job.
I want those 51 seconds of my life back. What garbage…
butt aids would have been better
Yeah, it looks 100% awful.
Bill Murray dies and this is how they repay him?
Why would they use the same characters? Jesus.
Ugh, couldn’t they have just given us a sub-par sequel like other self respecting moderate hit movies?
Seriously, this is WAY worse than I could have imagined from when I first heard they were turning Zombieland into a TV series. Good lord this looks awful. I know Zombieland was originally meant to be a TV series even before the movie, but I have to imagine they had higher aspirations for it than whatever the hell this turned out to be.
Hopefully since this isn’t ever going to grace any actual TV network, it can just fade away into obscurity after a couple of episodes.
I am shocked this isn’t on the USA network.
yep made it 15 seconds into the trailer and rage quit, this sucks
Did. Not. Like.
Not enough face-palms in the world.
Wow. I don’t even know how it can be so bad and not have ONE Wayans brother in it.
without even watching the trailer I’m still certain it is better than walking dead
is this written and directed by someone trying to be Freidberg and Seltzer because it looks and sounds like their work but somehow even worse. It hurts my soul.
Amazon…you are not Netflix.
This was a joke right? Like a bunch of film students got together and tried to be funny but it failed miserably.
It wasn’t that bad. I mean, these comments are ridiculous haha
