New Spider-Man Game Features A Bunch Of Other Spider-Men

The trailer for the latest Spider-Man video game, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, finally goes beyond the traditional spider-tasks we’ve come to expect from every Spider-Man game (After all, how many times can you beat up a pixelated Green Goblin before it starts getting a little dull?) This one features four versions of Spider-man from alternate dimensions that have to work to combine the Tablet of Order and Chaos to keep reality in working order. Man, why is reality so frickin’ fragile in these games?

So far, we’ve seen two of the four Spider-Men, the traditional Marvel-616 Spidey, which has been dubbed “Amazing” Spider-Man, and Spider-Man Noir, from the depression-era Marvel Noir series. If you don’t remember Spider-Man Noir (and I’m pretty much in that camp) he’s a stealthy leather-covered golden-age fighter and his gameplay is pretty Arkham Asylum-esque.

There’s no word on what the other two Spider-men will be, although there’s an image of Gamestop’s exclusive “cosmic power” suits which shows one of them with the forearm spikes that Spider-Man 2099 used to sport. (or is that will have been sporting?) See the trailer after the jump.
