OMG, it appears Twitter is testing a Facebook-like algorithm for the Home stream called "While you were away…" pic.twitter.com/CpQQMLp0VO

Sometimes, on the rarest of occasions, we look up from Twitter and, like, talk to people or eat dinner or care for a child. These are necessary evils of everyday life. But, luckily, Twitter is here to save us from these moments of basic human interaction with its new “while you were away” feature. Rolled out to some lucky users early in December, the function spread on December 31st and is expected to roll out site-wide this year.
Some users are thrilled.
This "while you were away" option on Twitter is next level.

This addition will hopefully be better than another recent addition–the one where tweets from accounts you don’t follow show up in your feed anyway.
At long last, we will never miss an @midnight hashtag again.
