Fox Just Unveiled A New Release Schedule That Should Please Fans Of ‘Avatar’ And ‘Deadpool’

Waiting for sequels to movies you love can seem interminable, but Fox is here with some holiday cheer to give you hope. While they unfortunately keep things pretty vague for most of their announcement, they did unveil a new release schedule that should please fans of Deadpool and Avatar (are there any of you left?). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has added two untitled Marvel films to their slate for Nov. 2, 2018 and Feb. 14, 2019, as well as an untitled film from James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment on Dec. 21, 2018. The Marvel dates join the already announced (but officially unfilled) March 2, 2018, and June 29, 2018, and now that Deadpool 2 has nailed down a director, it’s probably safe to assume that one of those 2018 slots belong to the Merc With A Mouth. There is also speculation that the announced James Cameron film will be Avatar 2, rumbling into theaters nearly a decade after the first trip to Pandora.

As well as giving us these new additions, Fox moved around a few of their upcoming releases. Kingsman: The Golden Circle got pushed back four months to October 6, 2017, and Alien: Covenant (which just got an awesome new poster) has been moved forward to May 19, 2017. Sadly, no news on the Gambit front, as the beleaguered production remains in flux and in doubt.
