‘Lights Out’ Serves Up Dread In The Dark Courtesy Of Its Freshly Unveiled First Trailer

How are you doing for nightlights? Do you happen to have a handful of Muppet Babies ones stored away in a drawer? You might need to plug ’em all in en masse thanks to the newly debuted trailer for Lights Out.

Adapted from the super unsettling short of the same name, Lights Out serves up chills, thrills and fluctuating electricity bills in its preview form. Directed by David F. Sandberg and produced by Conjuring shriek-extractor James Wan, this horror offering centers around how spooky things in the dark are and if you’ve got some type of extra-freaky creature in your unlit space all the better. Here’s a more formal description of what to expect from the motion picture:

When Rebecca (Triple 9′s Teresa Palmer) left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out…and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged.

The Lights Out trailer was unveiled at this year’s WonderCon where Wan also showcased the latest preview for The Conjuring 2. You’ll be able to check out Lights Out in the eerie darkness of your local movie theater starting on July 22.
