Admit it, if you had $10,000 burning a hole in your pocket, you’d totally buy a jet-powered go-kart from some random guy in Maryland who put it on Craigslist. Sadly, we do not have that kind of money, but hopefully someone out there does.
Believe it or not, this is not only legit, this is not the first time Seth Kettleman has unloaded a jet-powered go-kart on the Internet. Seth is something of a jet enthusiast; a while back, he built a fully functional jet-powered Batmobile, the 1989 classic of course. And now, yet again, he is selling a ridiculously dangerous vehicle to the general public.
The power comes from a Boeing 502-12 gas turbine, one of their jet engines from the ’50s they hoped to use to power cars. That didn’t quite work out, as you might have guessed, but fortunately, it means that it’s fueled by gasoline and allows you to just roll this baby onto the track. At 300 pounds of thrust, though, you might want to either clear away everything for a solid mile or so or get the heaviest guy on the track to test it first. Sadly, his YouTube channel lacks any evidence of these things actually working, but we’re sure somebody, somewhere will lay down the money and make it happen.
