Showtime’s reasonably titled Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going To Clean Up This Sh*t? special is gearing up for a night of analyzing and filleting what November 8 serves up to the American populace. Said gearing up now includes a new trailer that matches Colbert’s style with the pomp of the occasion.
In the new clip we have nestled at the top of the page, a voiceover trumpets the credentials of the Late Show host as he puts on a familiar ensemble complete with clicky-pen. It’s all very pay cable-y, but with an appropriately Colbert-esque marinade.
“Only one man has the depth of knowledge, the breadth of experience, the intelligence, the insight, the ethics and the professional standards to cover the biggest night in politics,” declares our narrator before Colbert brings the twist.
Naturally, there’s also a poster to go along with Colbert’s planned night of braving what might be the biggest sh*tstorm in U.S. election history.
