The Ultimate ‘Walking Dead’ Big Bad Makes His Debut In This Finale Trailer

After months of hype and foreshadowing, Negan is set to make his The Walking Dead debut in next Sunday’s season finale. We know his arrival is “f*cking awesome,” and that he’s being hailed as one of “greatest villains ever created in TV,” and there are two different endings, and his arrival might spell doom for a fan-favorite character, but we still haven’t seen any footage of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the biggest of The Walking Dead‘s big bads. Until now.

A trailer for the finale apparently already aired in international markets, and it includes not only our first look at Negan, but also Lucille, his trusty (and terrifying) baseball bat covered in barbed wire. (We saw what she was capable of in “Not Tomorrow Yet.”) He doesn’t say much in the teaser — “Hi, I’m Negan” — but he doesn’t need to; Lucille does all the talking for him. And based on the way the scene’s shot, from the POV of an unknown character, it’s probably bad news for… someone. We have theories.

Here’s what Morgan had to say about playing Negan:

“When my agent/manager called they said, ‘You’ve been offered this thing on The Walking Dead… it’s to play this big bad.’ At the time, they didn’t know the character’s name, because I think it was supposed to be a secret. And I’m like, ‘Is it f*cking Negan?’ And they’re like, ‘I don’t know, we’re going to have to call you back, hold on a second.’ And I’m like, ‘No, it’s f*cking Negan. And I’m f*cking doing it.’” (Via)

It’s f*cking Negan, and here’s the f*cking trailer.
