Katherine Heigl is being presented with a “female star of the year” award at this year’s Showest convention. The best part is, the first paragraph of the story references her upcoming late-term abortion co-starring Ashton Kutcher, which is kind of like if the Nobel Prize in Physics referenced the winner’s line of personalized drool bibs.  Aw crap, I think I just accidentally burned Stephen Hawking.

Katherine Heigl, who toplines Lionsgate’s summer comedy “Killers,” will be honored as female star of the year at ShoWest 2010.  “Her ever-present charm and innate talent have made Heigl’s transition from TV screen to silver screen seemingly effortless,” ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine said. “Her comedic timing and flair for acting are showcased in each of her roles and have captivated audiences around the globe.” [THR]

Katherine Heigl appeared in exactly one movie last year, The Ugly Truth, which was a moderate success and famously featured a gag about Heigl wearing vibrating underwear.  Wait, did he say his name was “Bob Sunshine?”  Holy sh-t, I just got the best idea for a Katherine Heigl movie…
