Katherine Heigl may have been down (what else would you call going from Knocked Up and Grey’s Anatomy to starring in a cat litter commercial?), but don’t count her out yet. Heigl’s pilot has gotten a series order from CBS, and Laverne Cox will costar!

According to Deadline, the pilot is called Doubt, and its creators are also Grey’s Anatomy alums! Funny how that works out. Doubt was originally a pilot last season, but didn’t go through until this year, when Heigl came on board. Here’s what it’s about:

A smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm starts to fall for her charismatic client who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.

For her sake, lets hope that this show becomes the next The Good Wife, or something. Because it was a long fall down from calling Knocked Up “a little sexist” to that kitty litter commercial.

But this series could actually be groundbreaking in a different way. Laverne Cox is playing a transgender character on this show, like she did on Orange Is the New Black, making her the first transgender actor to play a transgender series regular on a network show. That’s without a doubt (sorry) something to celebrate.
