On the ten year anniversary of the death of her father, Steve Irwin, Bindi Irwin posted a touching tribute to her late dad on Instagram. The television star with the amazing ‘Crocodile Hunter’ legacy was killed by a stingray in 2006 during the filming a documentary, Ocean’s Deadliest, in Australia. Bindi was just eight at the time, but now eighteen, she herself is popular for many of the conservation and animal awareness work her dad used to do.
“You’ll be my hero for my entire existence. I love you more than words can describe,” Bindi wrote on Instagram below a sweet photo of her famous dad holding her forward in the palm of one hand.
Bindi’s mother, Terri Irwin, also took to social media to honor her late husband. The tweet read “Happy Father’s Day Australia. Hug your dad.” in honor of Australian Father’s Day.

Earlier in the week, Irwin’s parents posted a heartfelt letter their son had written to them years ago. The note will be published in an upcoming memoir titled The Last Crocodile Hunter: A Father and Son Legacy.
You can take a look at the full letter over here and try not to get too misty-eyed in the process.
