The end of summer must be the season for experimental flavors. First there was the Swedish Fish Oreos monstrosity, followed by M&M’s butterbeer-flavored BOO-terscotch candies. And Dunkin’ Donuts just sprung their newest fall-themed dessert squares donuts on us — so what could possibly be next?
Birthday cake-flavored Hershey’s Kisses, is what.
It’s about time the Hershey Company pulled a new trick from their hat! The last newsmaker flavor was carrot cake, and we’re still not sure how we feel about that. Birthday cake, though, is a flavor that’s tough to mess up — dare we say that the Oreo version is even better than the original creme-filled Oreos?
While not fall-themed (which is totally okay — we don’t need everything to be pumpkin spice flavored!), we have high hopes for the birthday cake Kisses. According to the Hershey Company’s Instagram, the flavor was created in celebration of the 109th birthday of the candy; the kiss itself is white chocolate-based, with what we can only imagine to be colorful sprinkle-esque crunches throughout.
If you’re as excited as we are about the new flavor, you might want to try hitting up Walmart for a bag or six — that’s according to Delish, which says the Kisses are available in the celebrations aisle. The Impulsive Buy was the first to report finding them in the wild, but aside from their Yeti-like shot of the yellow bags, customer images are hard to find. (Don’t try searching Instagram for #birthdaycakekisses. It’s exactly what you would expect.)
But find them we will. And then we’ll stuff our face with them, although probably not all in one sitting, because that would just be foolish.
