This Japanese ‘Ghostbusters’ Burger Looks Like Pure Insanity, But Also Pretty Tasty

In a world of movie tie-ins that span from simple advertisements to all sorts of varying foodstuffs, Japan seems to have the edge in this matter with the new Ghostbusters. Sure, America gets its precious Hi-C Ecto Cooler back, so that it can collectively reminisce about school lunches from the 90’s, but it doesn’t go much further than that. So while the Internet has continuous meltdowns about the bastardizations of its childhood with each new trailer, people in Japan are getting crazy-looking burgers.

Following in the grand tradition of the black-bunned, themed burger that Japan has become famous for, the world is given this latest monstrosity. According to GrubStreet, this concoction worthy of awe is from J.S. Burgers Cafe, in conjunction with the upcoming Ghostbusters. The “G.B. Burger” as it has been labeled features the much-dreaded black bun alongside purple cabbage and a burger slathered in black olive and anchovy paste.

That burger is part of a themed menu that will run from July 1st to September 30th, including Black Chili Chips, a Slimer smoothie that appears to involve milk and kiwis, and a “Marshmallow Mad Burger” dessert burger that looks to be just a mountain of marshmallows and Oreos stuffed in between some sort of white bun.

If any of this seems appetizing — or maybe you are just really into Ghostbusters — you’ll need to head to Japan to put your mouth on these delectable dishes. Otherwise, just sit back and relax with a can of Ecto Cooler and call it a day.
