Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Shannen Doherty has a very familiar ally in her ongoing battle against breast cancer: her co-star Jason Priestley. You may remember, the two played twin siblings and were the centerpiece of the original version of the series that aired for 10 seasons on Fox beginning in 1990. And Priestley is offering love and support to his onscreen sister as she fights the cruelest of diseases.
Appearing at a benefit to raise money to fight Parkinson’s disease last week, Priestley sent word that he’s behind Doherty 100 percent. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the actor said, “I haven’t spoken to her, but I’ve been following her like everybody else. “It’s incredibly brave what she’s doing. I know she will come out of this.
“Obviously, I have a lot of love for Shannen,” Priestley continued. “She’s going to beat this because she’s a fighter and she’s a tough kid. She always has been. I send her nothing but love and light because I have nothing but love for Shannen.”
Doherty has documented her battle with a series of photos posted on Instagram, the most recent of which show her surrounded by friends and family as she went about the task of shaving her head.

Doherty was diagnosed with the disease in the spring of 2015 and made the diagnosis public in August of the same year.
