Somehow, it’s the middle of August, which means pretty soon leaves will be falling from trees and tears will be falling from your eyes. But before you get too sad, try to remember that there are good things about the changing seasons. For example, comfort food and Thanksgiving, apple picking, and let’s not forget pumpkin-flavored EVERYTHING. One fast-food chain is accelerating the timetable and offering pumpkin spice lattes beginning in August!
McDonald’s announced that the famed McCafe Pumpkin Spice Latte will be available nationwide beginning Aug. 31. This is a full week earlier than Starbucks released their pumpkin spice latte last year, so they’re obviously beefing. Another chain, Peet’s Coffee, is following in McDonald’s footsteps to gain a leg up on the competition and will start selling dark chocolate pumpkin mocha on the 31st as well.
How much longer until #pumpkinspicelatte season? Asking for a friend….

Seriously guys, what’s the rush? Why are you trying to put an end to summer, our most beloved season? Can’t you make everyone happier by extending the PSL season beyond Thanksgiving? Let us enjoy our lemonade and popsicles just a little bit longer before we absolutely must transition to spicy squash. We’re shocked by Mickey D’s decision. While we understand that the hordes of fanatics who look forward to this day for most of the year are over the moon, we’re not so excited because temperatures are supposed to be in the 90s in on the East coast for the next week and humidity feels like 1 billion percent.
But, hey… like they say, there’s nothing like a Big Mac, fries and a piping hot pumpkin spice latte to take the chill out of a 96-degree August day!
