Is this the future of fast food? McDonald’s has #frynally given eager customers what they never knew they wanted: endless fries. No more ruined friendships over fry-grabbing! No more sneaky stealing from the bag before you get home! We are on the cusp of world peace, and all because of the humble potato!
Okay, the future might not be as much of the obese utopia that we’re imagining. For one thing, this isn’t a new blanket McDonald’s policy — right now, only the so-called “McDonald’s of the Future,” which opened today in Saint Joseph, Mo., is offering the unlimited fries. And even that comes with a caveat: they’re for a limited time only, to celebrate the grand opening of the restaurant.
Still, customers are excited — and they’re starting to take that excitement to social media. One Twitter user visited today, and reported that the new fast-casual McDonald’s experience was worth the wait:
Definitely coming back later, when there isn't the "#Frynally ! New store" rush. Very busy today, worth the wait.

KQ2 reporter Amber Smith was there when the doors opened:

She also shared a look at the inside of the spiffy new restaurant, which comes complete with futuristic touchscreen ordering kiosks that allow customers to customize their sandwiches:

Of course, the endless fries promotion hasn’t come without its fair share of eyebrow raises. Over at the restaurant’s Facebook page, they received this subtle criticism, which, it should be noted, comes from someone who doesn’t even live in Missouri:
Mostly though, the people of the interwebs have been surprisingly quiet about the world-shattering new promotion. But we’re guessing that’s because they’re too busy shoving endless fries into their mouths to pause for an Insta snap. And we definitely do not blame them. NOM!
