Bunkers are where it’s at. With the Zombie Apocalypse looming and North Korea apparently in the nuclear warhead business now, bunkers are safe, practical, and will ensure that you and your closest friends will inherit whatever is leftover after the global collapse.
No need to start building yourself something new, though. Ballymena, Northern Ireland, has just what you need — and for only £575,000 (approximately $837,789)! The abandoned nuclear monitoring post was completed in 1990 and has enough space in it for 235 people. Quite the post-apocalyptic party!
Highlights of the bunker include a discreet location and a blast door from the outside. And inside, a communication room, a fully-stocked kitchen, a rec room, a conference room, dormitories, a police room, and, of course, toilet facilities with decontamination chambers. (It’s like they knew you were planning on staying down there for a while!) Andrew Fraser, the surveyor for the bunker, described it as a “one of a kind property,” to the BBC. “This is an extremely rare listing and offers a unique opportunity for potential buyers.”
Unique! Rare!
Of course, the facility does feel a bit industrial—sort of like an underground government building—but you can spruce it up with your own homey touches when you move in. That said, will you even really care about homey touches when there are zombies in search of braaaaaains on the other side of that blast door?
Go ahead and get your friends together on this deal. If everyone goes in even on it, the price is only $3,565/person. Quite the steal for ensuring the survival of your progeny and possibly the human race as a whole.
