For all their “no wrong way to eat a Reese’s” branding, the nation’s favorite peanut butter cup manufacturer couldn’t have foreseen this development. We’re not saying it’s a “wrong” way to eat a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, but this experiment at least qualifies as “kinky.”
If you’d be so kind to direct your attention to the video at the top of this post, you’ll be greeted with a downright hypnotic clip from The Food Surgeon. What does this surgeon have in store for those that click on his YouTube rectangle? This trailblazer/lunatic has removed the familiar peanut butter filling from Reese’s signature offering and provided an Oreo creme transfusion. Not unlike the Lambada did in its day, this piece of art has filled our hearts with lust and thoughts of engaging in what some might consider taboo. (That’s a long-winded way of saying we’d like to eat the video treat, please.)
The initial drawing power of the clip is the unholy merger of Reese’s and Oreo products becoming one, but the replay factor comes from the dedication our surgeon has to getting the process just right. That bit where our mad scientist uses a razor blade to cleanly scrape off the creme filling? Amazing. Plus, seeing the end product of this Reese’s Peanut-Butter-ectomy get chomped on at the end evokes a nice satisfied feeling of closure. What once felt so weird now feels so right. That said, please consult your nearest food surgery professional before attempting this fusion yourself.
