Rachel McAdams Is Game For ‘Mean Girls’ In Its Musical Form

Regina George has never really left us, has she? The Mean Girls villain continues to be a steady go-to reference point for feuds, backlash and the occasional presidential election. Y’know, because Rachel McAdams did an absolutely brilliant job of burning that queen bee into brains. In a recent chat with E! News, McAdams filled our hearts with fetch feelings about where the actress is at with the 2004 comedy smash.

McAdams was asked if she’d be interested in hopping aboard the upcoming Mean Girls musical. (She already knows some of the choreography, we reckon.) Her response?

“Sure,” said the Canadian actress. “I mean, I loved that movie. I love Tina Fey. I love the girls. I mean, to get to kind of have a reunion would be…we got to have a reunion at a photo shoot a couple of years ago and it was over like that and it wasn’t enough. I was back in it.”

That’s not exactly “I’ve signed a binding legal document,” but we’re just happy the project has McAdams’ blessing and anything on top is gravy. An added treat from that interview? McAdams has an idea what Regina George is up to these days. If you expected nunnery, you’re way off.

Asked if Regina would be a mom today, McAdams suggested, “Regina’s probably had a few.”

Probably mean babies? McAdams cracked, “Babies who are plotting your demise in the womb.”

If America decides to do a big studio redo of Prevenge, you know who to call.
