Offset Opens Up About Fatherhood And Gets Personal In His First Solo Album, ‘Father Of 4’

Offset dropped his first solo album, Father of 4, via Quality Control Music. Offset called on many friends to add lines to the 16-track album. J. Cole, Gunna, CeeLo Green, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Quavo, and Gucci Mane feature on various songs throughout the album.

Offset addresses his split with wife Cardi B last December on the track, “Don’t Lose Me.” In an opening monologue Offset professes an apology he had recorded a week after the split, “I apologize, you know what I’m sayin’, for breaking your heart. I’m a selfish messed up husband. I’m trying to be a better person.”

The couple is reportedly back together and reflect on their relationship in the media and mention Kim K and Kanye’s marriage in a collaborative song titled, “Clout.” “My bitch on your ass, Kim K/No disrespect/The nigga be tripping, but we love Ye.” “They usin my name for click bate,” Cardi raps.

Father of 4 begins with a spoken word by Big Rube, titled “Father of 4.” “There’s so much more to me than just a life. A son, a brother, a husband, a father, but still can go even further.” Offset comes in the track discussing his first child. “I was 17-years-old when I had you / Tryna find my soul when I had you,” Offset raps. “Jordan I’m sorry I wasn’t there for all your birthdays.” “Kalea you my first daughter / I missed the first years of your life I’m sorry / To tell you the truth I didn’t know if I was your father / To tell you the truth I don’t even know your mama.”

The album was originally set to drop on December 14th, but was postponed until February 22nd for unexplained reasons. Offset was the last member of Migos to release a solo album following Quavo’s QUAVO HUNCHO and Takeoff’s The Last Rocket.
