Texas Has Finally Brought Us Camouflage Ice Cream

Fueled by unicorns and dreams of cotton candy, the rainbow food trend took over social media and forever changed colorful food expectations. It used to be that rainbows were reserved only for funfetti, but now bagels, latte art, grilled cheese sandwiches, doughnuts, and even sushi are embracing the magic. It’s too much! And it’s time that people put down the food coloring and move on. Fortunately, unless you’re a synesthete, you need never taste the rainbow again, because its antithesis has arrived. Say hello to Camo ‘n Cream, the camouflage ice cream that Texas knew you wanted.

In operation since 1907, ice cream company Blue Bell makes over 25 kinds of delicious ice cream, and their newest flavor is no exception. The dairy treat blends pistachio almond, milk chocolate and cream cheese ice cream in a swirly pattern. Carl Breed, director of marketing for Blue Bell, stated “We are having a little fun with this flavor.” Clearly.

It actually sounds really good and it certainly looks better than a lot of the rainbow-inspired food. The only possible problem is locating your carton of ice cream if you put it down. Maybe Blue Bell could create special high visibility vests for each package of ice cream? Just a thought. #Branding
