Justin Bieber Enters The Dubstep

First rap, now dubstep. Justin Bieber is aiming to create an album around every sound he can and subsequently stain its credibility in one 12-track listing. In a USA Today interview, Bieber’s next album, Believe, will be heavy on the popular electronic sound. When speaking on the album, the young pop star shares that “I’m almost halfway through. What’s big right now are the sounds that are in the clubs, like dubstep. So I want to mess with that stuff, but also stay me.”

If people weren’t convinced on the genre’s growing popularity before, well, they’re definitely not going to be swayed by Bieber’s announcement. Dubsteppers will cry foul that Bieber’s move is the death blow to their preferred seizure-inducing dance genre. However, if anything, the Canadian’s move fully moves the sound into the mainstream music spectrum, credibility be damned.

One thing’s guaranteed though: hearing Bieber’s shrill yelp over dubstep’s “womp womp” could make for one of the more unintentionally funny consequences of the upcoming project.
