Kirk Hinrich & The Chicago Bulls Are Reunited!

Chicago’s looking to prove that going back to past relationships can work, at least in sports. With Derrick Rose projected to miss at least a chunk of next season, the Bulls picked up a familiar face to help run the offense next season. The team signed Kirk Hinrich, a former Bulls first round pick in 2003, to a two-year deal over the weekend.

As a salary cap casualty cast off two years ago, Captain Kirk hasn’t turned many heads during stints in Washington or Atlanta colors. But at 31, the Chicago brass probably hopes Hinrich can recapture some of the magic that sold so many number 12 jerseys not too long ago. He’s not likely to put up D.Rose numbers but given control of the rock, shots and adequate playing time, the former Jayhawk could make a decent fill-in while the team weather’s the storm and attempts to stay competitive.
