Nike Unveils The Zoom KD V, Kevin Durant’s Fifth Signature Shoe

If any sneaker model has a level of expectation to live up to, it would be the KD V. The previous model, the Zoom KD IV, had to be one of the undisputed best in terms of reception and desire of not just basketball shoes but all shoes regardless of category.

For the V, designer Leo Chang took Durant’s new sig to new dimensions by combining inspirational cues drawn from KD’s personal journey with symbolism from the number five (hear more from Leo here). As always, Durant’s shoes come with a story and, on the latest, the number 5 acts as inspiration: 5 players united on the court, 5 sides of the nation’s pentagon, 5 corners of a star, and what that means to #35. The final product is premium performance package built with a Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot, Nike Air unit in the heel and a unibody Hyperfuse upper construction for superior fit.
