Quentin Tarantino & Samuel L. Jackson Reunite For New Film “Django Unchained”

Samuel L. Jackson and Quentin Tarantino look to rekindle the flames of their 20 year working relationship with Tarantino’s latest project, Django Unchained. Variety recently confirmed everybody’s speculation, placing Jackson among a pretty elite list of actors to be featured in Unchained. The movie revolves around a revenge-fueled slave in 1800’s America and features Jamie Foxx in the lead alongside Leonardo DiCaprio as the villainous slave master.

There’s just so much to like about this project. Never one to shy away from the taboo, Tarantino appears to be embarking on the most controversial film of his career, one that can only be handled by his trigger-happy, warped mind. Expect liberal amounts of n-bombs and bloodshed courtesy of the unflinching director, who doesn’t give a f*ck about controversy (see: Inglorious Basterds). And the actors involved? The diverse ability of Foxx should be on full display, but what really intrigues me about this is DiCaprio’s casting as the villain. One of the most talented actors in Hollywood, watching him muster up as much bigoted, hateful energy as possible will stretch his ability to an area that its never been. Tarantino brought the role of a lifetime out of Jackson in Pulp Fiction, a performance that is without question one of the most entertaining features in movie history (“Does he LOOK like a b*tch?!”) and Sam’s yelling and hollering always make for welcome additions.

Quentin Tarantino has a penchant for taking audiences to places that they’ve never been. His films are never pretty, always controversial and make for some of the most entertaining experiences that one can have while watching a movie. That Christmas Day 2012 release date can’t come a minute sooner.
