The latest embarrassment for the Cleveland Cavaliers came on Saturday night, when they hosted the Houston Rockets on national television and got blown out of the water. The Cavs lost, 120-88, in a game that showed that the team has a long way to go if it wants to compete against one of the elite squads in the NBA.
There are plenty of people who have received criticism in Cleveland, not just for this game, but for the issues that have plagued the team in recent weeks. Towards the top of the list is Tyronn Lue, who has been criticized whenever his team looks like it’s not motivated during games, among a myriad of other issues.
Whenever a team wants to shake things up, the head coach is normally a person whose job gets called into question. But according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Lue doesn’t have to worry about the heat he may be feeling under his seat, as the team reportedly wants to stay the course with regards to its head coach.

Cleveland is 6-9 since the calendar turned to 2018, and with the trade deadline coming on Feb. 8, it makes sense that the team would view that as the smartest place in the immediate future to make a major change. As for whether that means Lue’s job will be re-evaluated after the deadline or if he’s 100 percent safe remains to be seen, but for now, it appears he can rest easy without worrying about having to find a new job anytime soon.
